Modified stripes
Basic material (asphalt) is modified by poromers; subsequently the mineral filling mass is added.
Maintenance of asphalt-oxidized stripes: stripes are always covered by strewn. Strewn might be mineral (milled slate) or have ceramic origin, also tinged and hydrophobic coating. Therefore it is regarded as maintenance-free technology. An exception might be asphalt stripes modified APP that are resistant to UV radiation and they can be generally used even without protective coatings.
Modified asphalt stripes are divided into two basics groups:
1. Stripes from elastomer asphalt modified by SBS rubber
Abbreviation "SBS" means synthetic rubber: "styrene-butadiene-styrene", that is added to the asphalt of 8-15% (except for non-inlay stripe with 22% SBS). For this type of modified asphalt is characteristic temperature range: -25°C to +100°C. That assigns good freeze resistance and considerable temperature stability in summer. By modification of asphalt is achieved great ductility, elasticity and long lifetime. The advantage of this asphalt sheet is that when mechanically stressed it keeps elasticity and does not have reversible reaction. Mellowing point of this stripe is about + 120°C
ROOFSPECIAL MONOFIX S5-25 - This modified asphalt of high quality that is of 5.2mm thickness and strewn by milled slate is developed to establish single-ply anchored waterproof isolation of roofing sheet. Very advantageous characteristic of this product beside the quality asphalt covering substance is composite carrying inlay of 250 g/m2 weight, which is made from polyester quilt and glass grid.
ROOFSPECIAL PV S5-25 přírodní - concerned modified asphalt sheet (SBS) of 5.2 mm thickness with carrying layer from polyester quilt with minimum weight of 230g/m2 strewn by milled slate on the upper surface. Used as an upper sealing waterproof ply of roofing sheet isolation.
ROOFSPECIAL PV S4-25 přírodní - concerned modified asphalt sheet (SBS) of 4.2 mm thickness with carrying layer from polyester quilt of minimum weight of 180g/m2 strewn by milled slate on the upper surface. Used as an upper sealing waterproof ply of roofing sheet isolation.

2. Sheets from elastomer asphalt modified by ataxic polypropylene APP
Ataxic polypropylene is added to asphalt in quantities of 17 - 25%. For this type modified asphalt is characteristic temperature range from -15°C to +130°C that means higher resistance against freeze and at the same time higher temperature stability during summer. Asphalt modification by ataxic polypropylene the high UV radiation resistant and long lifetime is achieved.
When the sheet is mechanically stressed it keeps elasticity and has low reversible reaction. Mellowing point of this type is around +150°C.
